Involvement With Pencils of Promise
Excerpt from Pencils of Promise's Annual Report
The Petretti family has been involved with Pencils of Promise since the very beginning. Larry first heard about Pencils of Promise in 2009 when Founder Adam Braun was hosting a small event in New York City. During that event, Larry gave what was PoP’s most significant gift at the time. Ever since, Larry has enthusiastically continued to support PoP by engaging his friends, family, business colleagues and network in the cause. The Petretti family has completed several fundraisers with PoP to build multiple schools and support PoP’s programs directly. In 2014, Larry traveled to Guatemala to see his impact firsthand and in 2015 his daughters Kristina and Jess also traveled to Guatemala. While they were there they visited one of the schools that their family made possible.
In 2016, the Petretti family launched PoP’s first ever golf tournament and raised over $75,000. They plan to host this event every year to introduce new people to Pencils of Promise and continue their dedication to supporting educational opportunities for kids who need them most.
Diversification in the Workforce

Our team has extensive experience and proven success in exceeding goals for MBE/WBE/DBE participation on many construction projects and we maintain an extensive database of MBE/WBE/DBE subcontractors and vendors. Through a concerted outreach program, we are committed to providing employment and business opportunities on our projects, regularly surpassing a 25% diversified/minority employment target.
Dollars for Doers
At Petretti & Associates we encourage our employees to help better our communities through the exercise of volunteering. Through our Dollars for Doers program we enable our team to volunteer their time and for every 25 hours of volunteer work from each employee per year, the Dollars for Doers Program will provide a $250 grant to a charity organization of choice.
